From Rock to Gravel: Understanding the Process of Crushing and Screening with Stone Crusher Machines
When it comes to construction, mining, and recycling industries, rocks and stones have always been an integral part. Crushing and screening have played vital roles in the material handling process for ages. As the oldest and simplest method known to mankind, the process of turning large rocks into small stones or gravel has never changed, except for the machines used. Today, various types of stone crusher machines are available for commercial and industrial purposes, including jaw crushers, impact crushers, cone crushers, and hammer crushers.
The process of crushing and screening initially involves removing the natural stone deposit being fed to the crusher machine. The initial feed of the natural rock is usually huge, so that it obtains adequate primary crushing at the large-scale size. Ensuring that all the stones that are extracted from the quarry are of the same size will help in minimizing any secondary crushing and screening needed. Thus, there will be a reduction in unnecessary costs required for reshaping the stones into a smaller size.
Once the rocks are excavated, they are transferred to a crusher machine. This crusher machine is equipped with an oscillating cone that rotates inside a hollow shaft. The rocks are fed into the cone through the narrow opening at the bottom. As the cone rotates, it crushes the rocks between the mantle and the concave wall.
Screening is the next stage in the process. A vibrating screen helps separate the smaller particles from the larger ones. These smaller particles are then sent on to another crusher machine for further crushing. Some stone crusher machines are specifically designed to carry out secondary crushing. At the same time, some materials can even be crushed into smaller particles in a single pass.
The integration of crushers into the crushing and screening units makes the process of crushing very compact. Also, the impact of the working process of the stone crusher machines on the environment and surrounding communities has been reduced to the minimum. The major drawback of industrial mining is the damage mining operations cause to the environment.
In terms of recycling, aggregates can be reused for construction purposes. Recycled aggregates form an essential component of the construction industry. They are used in the production of concrete, road base, asphalt, and other building materials. Recycled aggregates can be used to fill up excavated sites or mixed into new concrete structures, lowering the overall cost and environmental impact of construction projects.
In conclusion, the use of stone crusher machines in construction, mining, and recycling industries is becoming more common. The demand for crushed stones is increasing, leading to the development of crusher machines that can efficiently handle such rocks. This article provides an in-depth understanding of the process of crushing and screening of rocks and stones with the help of stone crusher machines. Having a better understanding of the stone crusher machine will help you enjoy a smooth and hassle-free operation.
